This is a very nice original example of the famed US Navy diver’s knife used in conjunction with the Mark V helmet. This knife was made by Morse Diving Equipment and is clearly stamped on the brass sheath: MFG’D. BY MORSE DIVING EQUIP CO INC. MASS. U.S.A.

This knife has undoubtedly been used but not abused. The brass sheath has a consistent patina with various small dings. The blade is still sharp and unharmed, but it does show some surface imperfections. The wood handle also has a nice patina, with a small piece of wood chipped off near the threaded brass center. Overall, the knife features good, honest use, which would match well with any Mark V helmet that has seen underwater jobs decades ago.
