Nation's Attic's Annual 2025 Diving Into History Auction

Nation's Attic "Diving Into History Auction 2025" was a significant success, particularly within its primary focus on antique and vintage diving equipment. The sale featured a highly desirable selection of historical diving helmets from renowned manufacturers such as A.J. Morse & Son, A. Schrader's Son, and DESCO. These collector-grade pieces achieved impressive results, with one of the top lots, a US Navy Mark V Helium "Widow Maker" Diving Helmet, selling for a record-setting $33,000. Another record-breaking sale in this category included a rare Ocean Systems Mixed Gas Helium Diving Helmet that sold for $24,000. A 1890s A.J. Morse & Son 5 Bolt USN Mark 1 Helmet realized $21,000, and a rare mixed gas helmet designed by Charles Lindberg's son sold for $19,200. The classic United States Navy Mark V helmets from World War 1 and World War 2 continue to be the model most in demand, with multiple examples realizing strong results. The consistent, high sale prices for these 19th and 20th-century artifacts highlight robust market demand and the successful consignment of exceptional, museum-quality items.

The auction's success was further bolstered by the strong performance of its diverse secondary categories, showcasing a wide appeal beyond diving memorabilia. A collection of rare antiques drew competitive bidding, evidenced by the sale of an Incredible 19th Century Vampire Hunting / Defense Kit in a wood coffin travel case for $7,500, and a 1930's Watling Rol-A-Tor 5c Antique Slot Machine which achieved $8,100. Additionally, a curated selection of US coins and a lifetime collection of antique golf balls contributed positively to the final tally. Pieces like an 1890 CC Carson City Silver Morgan Dollar sold for $540, confirming that competitive bidding extended across the entire catalog, resulting in an unequivocally successful auction event for Nation's Attic. All sales results include buyers premium.

With bidders from every continent representing collectors, corporations, and museums, the auction was a resounding success for both consignors and buyers. Nation's Attic is committed to preserving diving history and thanks everyone for their continued interest and support.
