Nation's Attic's first auction for 2022 featured a wide assortment of authentic submarine memorabilia antique diving helmets and vintage nautical items. The auction took place on Saturday April 2nd, 2022.

The first half of the sale consisted of a books, plaques, components, flags, photos, posters and much more associated with submarines. Most of the collection was focused on United States submarines. Two pieces associated with the USS Squalus were the highlights of the submarine artifacts. A USN dive knife presented to a Squalus salvage diver and the christening bottle cage from the Squalus launching received lots of attention and bids.

The middle of the auction offered buyers an eclectic array of nautical equipment. Ships binnacles, wheels, engine room telegraphs, large block and tackle, large ships steam whistles, and even a radio room telephone are just samples of the highlights! The center of the auction was rounded out by the sale of a beautiful Rolex Submariner divers watch still in the original box!

An excellent assortment of antique & vintage diving helmets were included in the auction. Some of the helmets that sold were a Miller Dunn Divinhood Style 1, two Miller Dunn Divinhood Style 3, multiple US Navy Mark V helmets, commercial helmets by Morse and Schrader, and Siebe Gorman were also sold. Diving helmets made during the second half of the 20th Century including a "Rat Hat", Miller 200, Miller 400 and an assortment of Kirby Morgan helmets also found new homes! Related diving equipment parts and pieces including a beautiful A.J. Morse & Son dive pump received lots of bids.
