This is a rare opportunity to acquire a 100% authentic, virtually brand-new US Navy Mark V diving helmet, manufactured by the esteemed Diving Equipment & Supply Company (DESCO) – one of the original and continuing producers of this iconic helmet.
 
Crafted in August 2015, this helmet was given as a retirement gift tp a commercial diver, but is now available to a discerning collector or enthusiast.
 
As shown in the detailed photographs, this helmet is like new with a polished finish from the factory. Over the last decades it has slowly developed a slight patina to the copper body, that could be left to age or easily polished back to a brilliant shine. The helmet features all original, factory-applied components, including:
 
    Communications fitting cap
    Non-return valve with cap
    Internal air vents
    Internal reproducer (speaker) wired to comms fitting
    Brails, wing nuts, and copper brail shims
    Safety latch
    Spitcock
    Exhaust valve
 
A small brass plaque with the divers name, riveted above the DESCO ID plate, is present. This plaque can be removed, left as is, or a new plaque could easily be made to your specifications.

Important Note: While this helmet is in factory-new condition, it is strongly recommended that it be inspected and tested by a qualified professional before any operational use.
 
All helmets sold by Nations Attic Inc. will have a certificate of authenticity (COA). This COA will have a serial # on it that will match the # on a tamperproof holographic decal placed on the inside of the helmet. This level of security and long-term assurance of the helmet’s authenticity is unmatched in the industry and very important to us.
 
Important Optional Details!

We are offering this helmet with multiple purchase options. The DESCO display stand made for this helmet, and shown in the photos, is available as an option. Second, the diver who was presented with this helmet was also given a DESCO knife. The brass sheath is engraved, but overall, the knife is in like-new condition. We are also offering this item as an optional purchase. Keeping all three items together would be ideal, but optional.
